L-carnitine is a conditional infant essential nutrient and plays an important role in metabolism of infants using fat as energy source. Infant l-carnitine synthesis ability is weak, only 12% of adults, especially premature infants, must supplement exogenous l-carnitine, to meet the needs of the body. L-carnitine not only plays an important role in energy production and fat metabolism, but also has certain functions in maintaining infant life and promoting some physiological processes of infant development, such as ketogenesis and nitrogen metabolism. At present, the world has 22 countries in infant milk powder with l-carnitine, and China has added l-carnitine milk powder on the market.
Good for heart and blood vessel health care
The heart is the body's most "diligent" organ and needs to pump blood constantly to keep people alive. At least two-thirds of the energy used by heart cells in constant exercise comes from the oxidation of fat, and l-carnitine is a key ingredient in fat oxidation. If l-carnitine is lacking, the heart will be affected first. L-carnitine is of extreme importance to the health of myocardial cells, replenish plenty of l-carnitine is advantageous to the prevention and treatment of a variety of conditions of the heart, such as people with congestive heart problems can improve heart function, and can minimize the damage after a heart attack, can reduce the pain of angina pectoris, can improve cardiac arrhythmia and does not affect blood pressure.
Beneficial to eliminate fatty liver
Liver is an important metabolic organ of lipids and fat. In addition to eating too much fat can lead to fatty liver, when the lack of l-carnitine or methyl supply is insufficient in the body, it will cause obstacles in the oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, and also cause excessive accumulation of fat in the liver and fatty liver. Increase or supply the intake of left carnitine, can adjust fat metabolism, promote the oxidation of fat, fundamentally eliminate inside body or inside viscera redundant or deposit fat. At present the country such as Switzerland, the United States and Japan will prevent the occurrence of fatty liver with left carnitine, also can eliminate the accumulation of excessive fat in liver through adding left carnitine and obtain rehabilitation.
Treatment of hemorrhagic shock
The mechanism of hemorrhagic shock is not only the dysfunction of vasomotor function caused by endocrine disorder under stress state, but also the increase of free radical content and cell damage caused by ischemia and hypoxia. L-carnitine has many pharmacological effects on hemorrhagic shock.
Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal saline control group and l-carnitine treatment group. Ten rats in each group were given general anesthesia with 3% pentobarbital sodium (1mL /kg) and intubation. The blood pressure and the content of NO, MDA and SOD of femoral artery were measured at 1h,2h, 3h and 4h. The results showed as follows: 1. After normal saline treatment, the average arterial pressure of the control group was slow and low, while the average arterial pressure of the l-carnitine group was significantly higher than that of the control group. 2. Compared with the control group, MDA content in l-carnitine group was significantly decreased. 3. The content of NO in control group increased gradually, while MDA content in l-carnitine group decreased significantly.4.SOD content in blood of control group decreased gradually. Compared with control group, SOD in l-carnitine group increased significantly.
