Vitamins have poor stability and are easily affected by light, heat and humidity. They will be gradually lost with the extension of time, especially in the process of feed processing and storage and transportation. Most vitamins are more or less reduced in potency. In addition, choline chloride due to water absorption, strong acid, is often the main reason for the destruction of vitamins.Betaine, on the other hand, is highly moisturizing, enhances the stability of vitamins, prevents oxidation of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, and protects its potency.
Research shows that: The vitamin stability tests of betaine and choline chloride in chicken premix were carried out respectively. It was found that betaine could improve the stability of vitamin A, vitamin K3, vitamin B1 and vitamin B6 during storage at 20~25 ℃, and the higher the temperature, the stronger the function of betaine. It is an economical and practical method to replace choline in the diet with betaine. Therefore, adding betaine instead of choline chloride in compound feed of laying hens can better maintain vitamin titer and reduce economic loss.
